MARITIME MEDICAL EXAMINATION.
Seafarers’ medical examinations are crucial to ensure that individuals working at sea are physically and mentally fit to perform their duties.
The assessments are conducted before employment or periodically to determine if seafarers are fit for duty.
At MHSG, we are certified and licensed to conduct medical examinations for seafarers by, the Kenya Maritime Authority. We offer precise, timely, and secure test results to physicians, medical providers, and employers.
Components of the examination include:
STEP 1
Medical History Review
- Past and current medical conditions
- Family clinical history
- Medications and allergies
STEP 2
Physical Examination
General appearance and Vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate among others)
Vision and Hearing tests
Respiratory and Cardiovascular systems
Abdominal examination
Musculoskeletal system
Neurological assessment.
STEP 3
Laboratory Tests
Blood tests (Complete blood count, Liver function tests, etc.)
Urine tests (to check kidney function and other conditions)
Drug and alcohol screening.
STEP 4
Other tests (If required)
Chest x-ray
Electrocardiogram ECG)
STEP 5
Mental Health Evaluation
Assessment of Psychological well-being (screening of depression or anxiety)
