MICROBIOLOGY.
Our Microbiology Laboratory is focused on diagnosis of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.
We utilize state of the art equipment, and harness professional knowledge and years of experience to accurately diagnose infectious diseases.
We carry out rapid diagnostic tests to ensure timely diagnosis. Antimicrobial resistance to antibiotics, antivirals and antifungals can be tested to detect therapies that are sensitive with an aim of informing treatment decisions.
Our Microbiology laboratory handles several types of specimens including: urine, stool, pus, high vaginal swabs, cerebrospinal fluids and tissue sample.
Some of the tests include;
- Microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
- TB- Ziehl Neelsen Staining Acid Fast Bacilli
- TB- Gene Expert.
- HIV Screen (Determine- HIV1/2) and HIV ELISA.
- Covid-19 Real time polymerase chain reaction and Rapid Antigen detection.
- Viral detection and quantification e.g, Hep B Viral Load, HIV Viral load.
- Rapid diagnostic testing including H Pylori Ag, Hepatitis B Surface Antigen, Rota/Adeno Ag.
